June 30, 2001 - This was the day we found our spot on the planet to dig some new roots. We were not sure what the views would be like because the brush was so thick from the middle of the lot. Heck, we weren’t sure which way it was to the road once we got back 20 feet or so.
My love of living in the country, if I’m successful, will show up in these blogs.
I’m a conservative who holds honesty above all else. I live with the understanding that you can not pick your neighbors, but you can still pick your friends.
The day it started
This was our first stop at Bonita after looking at a total of 21 locations that day. We fell in love with the spot.
There have been a lot of trials and tribulations and many friends made and lost since that day. But, Linda and I can still say it was a perfect choice. We even considered selling a few months back but we really didn’t need the money and still loved the views, fresh air, and, for the most part, quiet.
Even the neighbors coming up and running around in quads don’t bother us. They do it some weekends and we think of it two ways. 1. They have to go home, we don’t 2. We close our eyes and pretend we are in Disneyland next to Autopia - really, listen close next time you hear a quad - it’s the same sound! And they ‘still’ have to go home eventually. Meanwhile, let them enjoy the cool fresh air for a while.
